Bangkok is a little crazy. I'm staying in an area called Hua Lomphong but it's easy to get everywhere. I have a 73 year old Italian man in my door room who creeps me out. The first time I met him he talked at me for 1 and a half hours, I had no way of escaping. He definitely has some interesting views on life etc.
So I didn't get anything stolen on the bus to Bangkok but someone did steal a guys 2000 pound guitar. I didn't sleep much at all on the bus. At 5am, I woke up to a man shouting 'Bangkok, Bangkok, Bangkok - get off'. We were kicked off the bus in 5 minutes flat. I jumped in a taxi to the hostel but I couldn't check in until 1pm. I went for a walk around Chinatown and then went to a huge shopping mall. I was like a walking zombie at this point!
I haven't taken a ride in a tuk tuk yet! They get offended when I say I don't need a ride, 'Why don't you need a ride? Because I'm only going over the road. Okay, I take you there for 5baht'. Haha.
Yesterday, I went to the Grand Palace and also to see the Reclining Buddha. I much preferred the Reclining Buddha. One scamster tried to tell me the Grand Palace was closed until 2pm and that he would take me to another temple. No thanks Mr, I know your game. I wonder how many people fall for it every day? Even though it has rained every day since I got here, it is still quite hot. I had to wear long pants and a cardigan to visit the above, I can't tell you how disgustingly hot I was walking around. In the evening, a few of us from the hostel went to Khao San Road. I was disappointed with Khao San Road. I had my barter hat ready to go and didn't see much I wanted to buy. I think I might go to another market tonight.
At the moment it is thunder and lightening outside...
I'm looking forward to flying to Perth tomorrow!
