Last night was a little mad. We got on the Oz party bus around Sydney dressed in Australian themed outfits (that's what the pictures are of on facebook if you're wondering). It was a really good night full of random antics. We ended the night with pizza and laughing at Hannah drunkenly trying to climb on to the top bunk bed - 5 times and still failed. I fell asleep in my clothes, lovely.

Some of us headed to Paddy's market and Darling Harbor today instead of hitting the beach. I still can't get used to how hot it is! Sydney has such a nice feel to it, more laid back than London. It was nice getting lunch and sitting next to the water just chilling. I tried BBQ crocodile in Chinatown. My verdict = I would try it again but I don't know if the others were so keen.

Tonight we had our OzIntro leaving dinner up the Sydney Tower. The restaurant revolves whilst you are eating! It felt a little weird to begin with but the views were amazing. I tried Kangaroo! It's very chewy!

I'm sat watching Zoolander in the hostel. I've just got back from having drinks at the Palace and going to hit the hay ready to pack up to check out in the morning. I'm heading to the city tomorrow for a few days before heading up the east coast towards Byron Bay.

Australia day was so much fun.

The surf instructors wife took us to Boat Harbor to go surfing. Their kids were so cute. The little girl had a barbie called 'Grandma Barbie' and one of the guys in the group taught her how to click her fingers at someone when she didn't get her own way.....her mum wasn't too pleased when she clicked her fingers at her! The beach was packed because of Australia Day, usually it's empty.I actually stood up surfing! I have photographic evidence but it's not on my camera. I've got so many bruises and cuts now though. We had a relay race, my team were called Boom Shakalaka. The race ended up in a dance off for first place, I'm pretty sure we came last. We had to come out of the sea at one point because lots of Blue Bottle jelly fish were nearby. One of the guys got stung, ouch.

To sum up, I would definitely try surfing again.

On Thursday we went to Bondi Beach and saw the Bondi Rescue boys. No kisses yet but give me next week to produce photographic evidence! I did see Bondi rescue being filmed though. We also saw an ex Home and Away actor filming something at the famous skate park area. We sunbathed for a few hours before starting the Bondi to Clovelly coastal walk. It was such a hot but lovely walk which took about an hour and a half. A BBQ greeted us at Clovelly, I've had BBQ so many times this week. On the night we went for drinks at a place called the Palace. Drinks are so expensive, I can see why people drink boxed wine (GOON!).

I tried my first Cherry Ripe, YUM! Place your orders now.

 Bondi Rescue being filmed!

On Friday we had to be up and out for 7:15am to go to the Blue Mountains. We had a tour guide called 'Smokey', his first song choice en route - ACDC. We stopped off to see some Kangeroo's on the way to the mountains and saw a freaky huntsman spider. Next stop - Glenbrook for a coffee and croissant before heading to Wentworth falls. The view was amazing, the photos really don't do it justice. We all decided to walk down to a waterfall and all absolutely died on the 20min trek back up! Katoomba was our final stop. We stopped at Echo point to see the Three Sisters before taking the 52 degree angle railway back to the top. The video of it is pretty funny. We drove over the Harbor bridge on the way home which was cool. I can't wait to do the bridge climb!

I booked my hop on hop off bus from Sydney to Cairns today and also my Fraser Island and Whitsundays trip. Getting excited to get on the road now.

Happy Australia Day!

Expected temp for today.....37 degrees! Our hostel is overlooking the beach, 9am and the beach is packed already. We are all going surfing today (Ross I will get photographic evidence!!!!! fingers crossed it won't be like the wake boarding washout!). Then it is chill out time on the beach before heading in to the city to see the fireworks.

Yesterday we went to Darling Harbour for lunch then to the Sydney Aquarium - full of little kids running around shouting "There's Dory!, There's Nemo!" Super Sweet. Iwill have to get some pictures up soon.

Last night we went out for drinks and had a free BBQ. The band playing were horrendous, trying to rap but it really wasn't working.

I've decided to stick around in Sydney for a few weeks. It's great getting everything organised by the group but I really want to get out and explore for myself!

I forgot to tell you that on my flight from Heathrow I was sat next to a mum and daughter from Poole! Of all the people I could sit next to. Oh and the daughter was PETRIFIED of flying, actually crying and rocking back and forth on landing, take off and every tiny bump.

.....Hello Australia!

A 24 hour flight plus a stop over in Kuala Lumpur and I'm finally in Sydney. We had to take the other Soph to the doctors via wheelchair during our stop over. She's okay but we did get some funny looks! On the plus side, we were allowed on to the Sydney flight first. On the down side, they didn't upgrade us haha.

We landed in Syndey at 8pm local time. I feel like I've lost 2 days.....Very jetlagged today, didn't sleep at all last night. We all got up at 6am! We went and sat on the beach soaking up the rays.  It was suprisingly busy for 8am.

Just heading in to Sydney now for some jetboating. Hopefully the spray will cool me down! No idea how hot it is but it's hot. (Ma, the stupid suncream has ruined my top already!!! so bought some new suncream today).

This is the life.

Goodbye England.......
